I saw Twilight III today. I was a little embarassed standing in line to buy my ticket, but I went with my bff D and we had a good time. I think it was the best one yet, and that's really saying something. Lots of violence, kissing (Could Taylor Lautner be any more of a cutie?), and meaningful looks.
The actors are pretty bad - it's kind of funny. I saw Kristen Stewart in something else not too long ago and she was the exact same character: trying to be all brooding and angsty and sincere but failing miserably on all three counts. And what is up with that painful grimace on Robert Pattinson's face? I know he's supposed to be chronically frustrated (you know what kind of frustration I mean but this blog is rated G - Jakey reads my blog) and constantly trying to control his desire to kill Bella but it's not a good look on him. You'd think someone would have helped him improve it by the THIRD movie - I dunno, acting lessons maybe? - but it's just awful. I thought the Twilight books were totally mediocre but the storyline is intriguing - it's too bad Stephanie Meyer isn't a better writer.

Also, we are on day three of rain, rain, rain - leftovers from Hurricane Alex.

  1. when reading the books, and suddenly coming across a word above the 9th grade level, it was shocking and out of place - like the used her thesaurus to look up the word. The story is good (I love vampire stories) but the writing is bad, the acting is bad...but Taylor Lautner..is a REAL cutie patootie! :o) I make Alisa go see them with me, so it looks I am going for her! LOLOL

  2. I totally agree. I saw it and loved it for what it was- a silly chick flick. It was definitely over the top in a lot of ways, but I got a few good giggles in and had a fun time. There's nothing wrong with that!

  4. Fluff books, I love 'em, says the English Lit Major. I'm a sucker for a vampire love story. The Interview With a Vampire series by Anne Rice were pretty much the same for me. Her writing was horrible. But I loved the characters so much, I read the books. Josh is taking me to see Eclipse tonight. =) TEAM EDWARD!!!

  5. Jennie & Amy - Don't be so snooty. This is entertainment for teenage girls and 63 year old men. It's not "A Prayer for Owen Meany." I loved the books and I've loved the movies I've seen, so far. Karen and I will be seeing #3 on Monday. As for Robert Pattinson - I call him Robbie when I'm thinking about him - I'd kiss him right on the lips.
