My Little Friend and I watched Bedknobs and Broomsticks together tonight. I know that I saw it when I was kid, and one part I do remember quite vividly, but I had forgotten the entire plot, the characters and their names, and what happens in the end.

(I think it would be kind of interesting having a name like Eglantine. Nobody would ever forget meeting you, that's for sure.)

Watching the movie again all these years later I'm amazed at how much all the old Disney movies resemble one another. They seem to have had a particular team of artists with quite recognizable work that collaborated on all of the Disney movies.

Tonight, while watching Bedknobs and Broomsticks I was reminded of Disney's:
  1. The Jungle Book
  2. Robin Hood
  3. Pete's Dragon
  4. and Mary Poppins

It was fun watching it. And very fun watching my Little Friend enjoy it, although he was quite unimpressed with the special effects. Some things have come a really long way since I was a kid.

  1. While I don't really LOVE my name, I'm very grateful my parents didn't name me Eglantine... sounds like a chocolate drink... mixed with an egg.

  2. I was looking at that pic of Angela Lansbury thinking she reminded me of someone... it's Chandler... she looks like Chandler in this pic (to me). Ha ha ha
