Our Alaskan cruise was two-sided. First of all Alaska is just as beautiful as everyone thiks it is. Breath-taking.
The other side of that cruise is simply that the majority of the people on that cruise were older, retired, near-retired, etc. Not so bad, you think? Well in that particular population, in one week, two people died, there was a raging virus (which Bobby caught and had his head in a bag for a week) and we came across a very bad storm at sea and went at top speed across the Gulf of Alaska and into the safety of the inlet.
I also discovered that I do not get seasick.
We had flown directly from Minneapolis to Fairbanks and stayed at a B&B there. Then we took a train to Anchorage and stayed at another B&B and also did a little sightseeing around Anchorage before we got on the ship.
If we had taken a Caribbean cruise in late August/early September, we would have been surrounded by young, beautiful, half-naked people. As it was, we were surrounded by older friendly people, beautiful scenery, and an iffy Mother Nature.
Me too, but what I really want is to go on an Alaskan Cruise. :)
